17" (43 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with lightly tinted complexion depicting an adult lady with
oval face,slender throat,posed as though gazing downward with heavily-lidded painted blue
eyes,high arched brows,nostril accents,closed mouth with suggestion of a smile,fully pierced
ears,and having light brown hair waved away from her face into arranged curls that are
decorated at the crown with a large white bow; having kid gusset-jointed body and porcelain
limbs,blue silk gown,undergarments,boots. Condition: generally excellent,an original firing line
extends vertically on back shoulder plate,body is appropriately sized but not original. Marks:
399 W 3. Comments: the model was introduced at the 1901 art fair in Munich,inspired by the
Neopolitan figures of the 18th century. Value Points: rare model with distinctive face.
