15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,blue glass enamel inset
eyes,painted lashes,widely feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,slightly parted
lips with two rows of tiny teeth,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig,cork pate,pierced ears,carton
torso that forms into a cone-shaped floor-length skirt and covers the internal
mechanism,metal upper arms,bisque forearms,original sateen covered over cone skirt,and
original day gown with demi-train,original earrings. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J.
Steiner (impressed on internal mechanism) Magasin des Enfants,Passage de l̴Opera Paris
(stamp on cone skirt). Comments: Jules Steiner,circa 1867,his deposed model of a
waltzing,gliding lady who moves in realistic manner when wound,or poses as a fashionable
lady when still. Value Points: rare doll in pristine original condition,beautiful bisque and
bisque hands,rare Steiner signature on mechanism,functions well.
