Description
17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with firmly-pressed and oil painted facial features and brown sculpted hair with modeled forelock, sculpted blushed ears, small painted grey/brown eyes with black and brown upper eyeliner, tiny "flat" nose, closed mouth with downcast expression, muslin body with frog-style hands, wearing antique original cotton one-piece undergarment with button-closing flap, simple tunic smock, socks, shoes. Condition: original finish of head with some aging, body is original but darkened. Comments: Kathe Kruse, 1911, the premiere model exclusively made by that firm, made for one year only, notable for its smaller nose. Value Points: rare model with endearing poignant expression.
