Description
6" (15 cm.) l. One-piece all-bisque figures depicting Admirals Cook and Perry,each with
realistically-sculpted features and costumed in heavily-grouted "snow" costume; the figures are
posed at either end of a grand snow-ball which is actually the globe of the world and are which
are painted the North and South Poles,and they appear to be rolling the snow ball. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: 9439 (incised) made in Germany (green stamp). Comments: Gebruder
Heubach,circa 1910,the very rare piece was created to commemorate Peary̴s 1909 expedition
to the North Pole.
