16" (41 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial features,brown eyes,impressed
scowls and frown lines,closed mouth,prominent nose,brown mohair wig,five piece body with
jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Hygienic Toys,Made in
England by Chad Valley Co,Ltd. Comments: Chad Valley,circa 1938,the doll may have been
inspired by the Sergeant Preston radio series featuring the adventures of a Royal Canadian
Mounted Policeman,which first aired in 1938 and was extremely popular. Value Points: pristine
unplayed with condition,the doll wears a Royal Canadian Mounted Police felt flannel costume
including felt wide-brimmed hat,riding crop and riding boots.
