Description
3" (8 cm.) and 2". Each is bisque shoulderhead depicting Kewpie with classic topknot,side
curls,side-glancing eyes (the larger right glancing,the two smaller left-glancing),blue wings,dash
brows,and impish smile. Marked "9268" incised on each. Excellent condition. Germany,circa
1920,the heads were sold without bodies,with the notion that hand-made cloth bodies and
costumes based on the Kewpie stories would be created in the home. This trio,with the two little
imps glancing at the larger model who is looking back at them,offers wonderful possibilities in
that direction.
