21" (53 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head portraying the young Grace Kelly at the time of her wedding
to Prince Rainier,having elegant elongated throat and uplifted head,sculpted blonde hair in
looped chignon,sculpted pierced ears,painted blue eyes with enhancing glaze,red and black
upper eyeliner,fringed lashes and brows,aquiline nose,closed mouth,muslin body,porcelain arms
and legs,beautifully costumed. Condition: generally excellent,right wrist and right thumb
imperceptibly re-glued. Marks: M. Thompson 1957. Comments: portrait doll of Princess Grace by
Martha Thompson,1957 at the time of her marriage and inauguration,with elegant
bearing,details such as sculpted beaded necklace; few models in this grand size were made by
the esteemed artist,one of these was presented to the Princess.
