21" (53 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head of Queen Elizabeth II at the time of her inauguration,has
sculpted short brown hair in wavy curls,partially sculpted ears,sculpted crown and
necklace,painted blue upper-glancing eyes,red and black eyeliner,painted lashes,lightly
feathered brows,strong nose,closed mouth with firmly set lips,muslin body,porcelain lower
limbs,painted silver heeled shoes,blue brocade gown. Condition: generally excellent,few
rhinestones missing in crown. Marks: MDT Elizabeth II 1952 (head) Martha D. Thompson
(body). Comments: portrait model of the young Queen of which the royal family noted there
was "no objection" but could not give official approval. Value Points: beautiful portrait with
superbly painted features,the sculpted and painted crown and necklace enhanced with
appliqued rhinestone "diamonds".
