60" (152 cm.) with hat. A carved wooden head with elongated throat has highly defined age and
laughter wrinkles,painted complexion and features,cut-out eye socket with loosely set eyes that
can move from side-to-side,hinged jaw,leather eyelids,hollow wooden block torso with
puppeteer levers for creating various movements,loosely jointed arms and legs,original costume
and top hat. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: American,early 20th century,the nearly-
life-sized puppet could sit on puppeteer's lap and be manipulated by levers inside torso; eyes
moving side-to-side,mouth opening and closing,and leather eye lids opening and closing. Value
Points: wonderful and rare large folk art figure with working movements,original costume and
painting,and including wooden arm chair for display.
