Description
16" (41 cm.) A bisque-head clown with blue glass eyes,painted features,open mouth,four
porcelain teeth, blonde fleecy hair, carton torso containing clockwork mechanism, hinged legs and
arms,is wearing an original clock costume in gold and coral silk, and is standing behind a two-
wheeled cart that supports a large drum. The drum is attached to the doll by a velvet-covered
metal rod,and when wound, the clown marches along, while the wheels of the cart turn, and he
clangs the cymbals and beats the drum. Excellent condition, head is of the era and appropriately
sized, but not original, mechanism functions well. For the French market, circa 1900,a delightful
and charming toy.
