14" (36 cm.) A wooden platform with bellows-sides that allows the platform to be squeezed to
create music and motion,is decorated with paper,fabric and trim,and displays three small
bisque-head dolls with glass eyes,painted features,blonde mohair wig,block torso,wire
arms,and wearing charming delicate Springtime gowns and bonnets,along with four paper
mache and fleecy lambs with painted faces. When the platform is squeezed,music plays (an
actual tune) and the little girls dance about. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 70.13
(dolls). Comments: circa 1890,Maker unknown. the doll heads by Kuhnlenz; the mystery ink
script initials dt and tk appear on the piece and on its original box in three places,and the
original store label M. Glouard from Lille is stamped on the underside; the original box is
labeled "3 fillettes musique". Value Points: the delightful musical toy is preserved in pristine
original condition,always stored in its original box.
