Description
7.5" (19 cm.) Of painted tin,the toy depicts two Chinese men with blue hand-japanned uniforms
and cap,and real queues,transporting a decorated sedan chair within which is seated a yellow-
suited bearded Mandarin with extended arms. When coil-spring is wound,wheels hidden under
the sedan chair cause the toy to move forward as though the men are walking; their arms move
back and forth on the carrying handles and their heads and the head of the passenger nod. Very
good/excellent condition,mechanism functions well,some light pant scratches.
Germany,Lehmann,EPL model 565,circa 1905. Lehmann's earliest version of this rare toy.
