18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with very full cheeks and throat,brown glass eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,lightly feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with defined space and painted teeth between the outlined lips,brunette mohair wig over plaster pate,early composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists,antique costume in the Flora McFlimsey manner. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 12. Comments: Kestner,circa 1885,the model closely resembles the "circle-dot" model of Leon Casimir Bru,whose market the doll attempted to capture. Value Points: rare model with captivating expression,rare painted teeth,original wig,body,body finish,wonderful costume.
