Description
9" (23 cm.) h. 10"l. platform. Standing upon a wooden platform with hidden wooden wheels and
lithographed paper decorations is a bisque-head clown with blue glass eyes,painted
features,open mouth,teeth,blonde mohair curly wig,block torso,wire-articulated arms with
wooden hands,and wearing an original silk circus costume. The clown stands behind a a large
circus drum which rests on a wooden form and is decorated with circus-themed decoupage.
When pulled along,the clown turns his head from side to side,and clangs the drum with the stick
and cymbal that he holds. Excellent condition. Attributed to Zinner and Sohne,circa 1890.
