Description
11" (28 cm.) and 12". Each has gesso-over-wooden head with sculpted hair and painted facial features,and dowel and pin jointed body with pewter hands and feet. The blonde haired model has swivel head and painted blue shoes,and the black haired model has straight neck and painted black shoes. Condition: good/very good,original finish on each with slight craquelure and paint rubs. Comments: Joel Ellis and Mason and Taylor dolls,circa 1875. Value Points: well-preserved American dolls demonstrating ingenuity in the search for sturdy and playable dolls.
