28" (71 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with pear-shaped modeling,full cheeks,deep amber-
brown glass paperweight inset eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes,mauve blushed
eyeshadow,brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded
nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips,pierced ears,dimpled
cheeks,brunette mohair wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-
jointed body with flat-cut derriere,straight wrists,antique costume. Condition: generally
excellent,early body repair with craquelure. Marks: Sch (in shield) 6 (on head and derriere).
Comments: Schmitt et Fils,circa 1884. Value Points: very beautiful example with exemplary
painting and bisque,enhanced by brown eyes with unusual depth and clarity.
