painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth,pierced ears,brunette hand-tied human hair wig,French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Unis France 17 149. Comments: SFBJ,Unis France epoch,circa 1938,a pair of exhibition-sized dolls representing the two young princesses of England,Elizabeth and Margaret,were made to publicize their official state visit to Paris in 1938; later smaller sizes of the models were sold in Paris department stores,but very few examples of the exhibition size were ever made or preserved; one set is in the Victoria and Albert Museum. Value Points: extremely rare doll in perfectly preserved condition,with original wig and original delicate organza gown with embroidered details,undergarments,stockings and shoes.
