Description
5.5" (14 cm.) The carved wooden figure depicts a
nun in traditional habit with painted details of
coiffe, sash and collar. The head is loosely spring
attached and designed to nod back and forth, and
the skirt holds an added surprise as,when the
upper torso is removed, the skirt hinges open to
form an arched triptych with carved and painted
furnishings and accessories depicting a small
worship room. Excellent condition,one hand
missing, chips at back of collar, overall beautiful
colors vibrantly preserved. Early 19th
century,probably German.
