a solemn-faced child,having defined eye sockets
with painted blue eyes,black upper
eyeliner,painted lower lashes,feathered
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with shaded
lower lips,brunette hand-tied human hair
wig,muslin body with jointing at shoulders and
hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
Included with the doll is a note "Dewees Cochran
45 East 51,The doll was the sample to try to have
a good factory turn them out. This all fell
through in 1941 (I think) and {name
indecipherable}bought the six different models.
Mrs Cochran was the first we know of to make
portrait dolls.". This doll is presumably one of
the six original prototypes used as samples. Value
Points: extremely rare doll in perfectly preserved
condition,original artist-made linen dress with
dainty details,undergarments,socks,shoes,along
with the ink-written paper note.
