Description
25" (64 cm.) All-wooden carved doll with darkened finish,swivel head designed with groove for
forward nodding as well as swivel,bald pate,defined eye sockets,aquiline nose,firmly set
lips,defined ears,muscular torso,ball-swivel waist,dowel-jointing at
shoulders,elbows,wrists,hips,knees and ankles,defined fingers and toes. Condition: generally
excellent,two baby fingers and one toe chipped. Comments: French,mid-18th century,the body
model influenced Leon Casimir Bru in his deposed design of poupee wooden body in 1868. Value
Points: rare large size with beautiful carving and patina.
