Description
14" (36 cm.) A wooden base with paint-grained
paper finish contains a mechanism and crowing
sound that is connected to the feathered rooster
that perches atop. The rooster,with paper mache
form,amber glass eyes,red paper mache comb and
hinged beak. When lever at the base is pushed,the
rooster crows loudly,opens and closes its beak and
proudly raises raises and lowers his chest in a
classic morning wake-up crow. Excellent condition.
Probably French,circa 1880,a rare and
well-functioning toy with hidden wheels at base
for use as pull toy.
