16" (41 cm.) One-piece carved wooden head and
torso,egg-shaped head,slightly elongated
throat,flat-back torso,almond-shaped enamel inset
eyes,painted "dot" lashes and wide brows,accented
nose,closed mouth with wide and thin lip
line,fabric upper arms,crudely carved wooden lower
arms,hands,and dowel-jointed legs,wearing simple
country transfer-printed cotton dress over two
patterned cotton petticoats,pantalets,stitched-on
slippers,lace cap. Condition: two vertical paint
separations on face,yet original finish with
beautiful original details and blushing. Comments:
England,circa 1790. Value Points: very appealing
early doll in excellent state of preservation.
