Description
5" (13 cm.) fan. 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" frame. The
bone-handled fan with cut-work designs has
parchment paper leaves and is hand-painted with
delicate flowers and vines,with original silk
tassel. The fan is enclosed in a wooden frame and
on the backside is the old ink-script note "Doll's
fan,brought from Paris in 1822 - used by the
children in the Pitt family up to 1893". Excellent
condition.
