Description
3 1/ 2" shoulder width. 9" overall length. The
princess-style dropped-waist dress features
sides,back and sleeves of creamy cashmere,and a
center panel and skirt of aqua silk faille that is
richly draped and folded at the bodice and formed
into narrow box pleats at the skirt. There are
extended "tails" of cashmere at the back that are
gathered into a flounce and trimmed with an aqua
silk bow. The aqua bows are repeated at the
wrists,and there is a lace ruffle at the wrists
and throat. A lace and pleated muslin dust ruffle
is hidden beneath the hem. There are a few moth
holes. Circa 1882.
