18" (46 cm.) Firmly-sculpted and oil-painted socket head with egg-shaped crown, brown side-painted hair with swirling forelock curls, painted brown eyes with white eye dots, black and brown upper eyeliner, closed mouth, stitch-jointing at shoulders, disc-jointing at hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Kathe Kruse, Type VIII, circa 1940, known as "Eierkopf", in reference to over-sized egg-shaped head. Value Points: rare model with uniquely-shaped head, has well-preserved original painted finish, and wearing brown woolen jacket, white shirt, corduroy short pants, bow tie, shoes and socks.
