Description
4" shoulders. 6" waist. 10" skirt. A brown
silk/cotton jacket with flared sides,dropped
shoulders,and coat sleeves is trimmed with the
skirt fabric in box-pleats that form around the
jacket edge and neck,; there is silk braid on the
cuffs. The skirt of a rich bengaline silk has
cartridge pleating at sides and back,and a flat
front,three ruffle tiers at the bottom skirt
(lined for shape) edged by silk braid. Circa 1860.
