10 1/2" (27 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined heart-shaped lips, pierced ears, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over Steiner pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body, wonderful antique costume, woven bonnet, leather shoes, carrying little toy pup. Condition: generally excellent, French body with original finish is appropriately sized and of the era albeit not Steiner. Marks: Sie G 3/0 (incised head) J. Steiner Bte S.G.D.G. Bourgoin (red ink script). Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1880. Value Points: very rare model especially in this tiny size, captivating expression and presence, choicest bisque and painting.
