Description
3" shoulder width. 7"waist. 11" skirt length. 9"
jacket front. Of delicately woven fine white
lawn,the two-piece ensemble features a dart-shaped
bodice,fitted waist,and flared sides that fit
snugly over the hips,and at the back is gathered
at the waist and falls to a 12" length allowing a
bustle-like arrangement. The very long pagoda
sleeves and the entire front,neckline and bottom
edge of the jacket are finished in multiple rows
of fine lace and rose silk ribbon,and a pleated
flounce is at the back. The flat-front skirt has a
gathered back and a 2" decorative band of
alternating lace and rose silk ribbons just above
the hem. A matching petticoat is included. Circa 1875.
