Description
4" inside head width. A tightly woven cotton twill
forms a bonnet whose cap-back is
trapunto-embroidered in a rich design of flowers
and vines. An arrangement of 3 rows of tulle
alternates with three rows of looped ribbons in a
graduated width all around the face,and is
surmounted by a very high wire-framed shirred
crown that is decorated in front and behind with
lavish ivory satin ribbons and bows. The bonnet is
fully lined and has ivory streamers. Circa 1875.
