Description

all-around the
face. Of a cotton twill with mauve
transfer-printed abstract
circular design,the bonnet has nankeen lining and
is thickly
quilted. Although the quilting is,presumably,for
warmth,it also
gives a firm structure to the bonnet. The very
wide brim extends
5" all-around the face with cotton ties at the
neck,and at the
neck points of the brim. Circa 1840.
