Description
3 1/2" shoulder width. 7" waist. 12" overall length. A delicate magenta silk gown has a fitted jacket with flared hips,long coat sleeves,and an attached over-skirt that is luxuriously draped at the sides and back to form a demi-train and generous bustle. There is an unusual honey-comb pattern shirring at the upper arms and front skirt panel,a row of narrow pleats at the hem,and fine hand-made lace forming the collar,and edging the jacket,cuffs,over-skirt,and train,with additional dust ruffle on underskirt of train. Circa 1875.
