Description
7" shoulder width. 19" overall length. A child's
dress of pongee silk in a cafe-au-lait color
features slightly dropped waist below a
box-pleated bodice,rounded wide detachable collar
with Alencon lace edging that is repeated at the
sleeve edges,tightly gathered skirt forming into a
bouffant at hip-length above a row of narrow
pleats. There are bone buttons and handmade button
holes at he back,and a detachable belt. Also
included is a Fanchon bonnet constructed entirely
of richly draped and folded delicate lace with a
crown of brown silk faille ribbons that form into
streamers at the sides. The costume would be
suitable for a child doll about 33"-37". Circa 1870.
