Description
3 1/2" shoulder width. 8" waist. 11" overall
length. Of a fine
silk/wool twill,in a striped cream and aqua woven
pattern,the
gown has a rounded neckline,short fitted
sleeves,dart-shaped
torso at the front,set-in waist at the back above
box pleats that
form into an elongated skirt length at the back.
The gown is
decorated with an aqua banding and lace at the
neckline,white
buttons and hand-made buttonholes at the front,and
a sky blue
silk pocket and sash loops at the side,and is
fully-lined. Circa
1860.
