Description
4" shoulder width. 9" overall length. Of luxurious
ivory silk satin duchess,the dress has a center
front panel and wide hip sash of tiny rose petals
on a brown background,framed by lace bretelles
that extend over the shoulders. The sleeves,sides
and back of the dress are of ivory silk,as is the
box-pleated lower skirt. The dress back has narrow
pleats at the top above a panel of tight ruching
and decorated by a flounce of ivory silk. The lace
bretelles continue into a wide back collar edge
and the lace is repeated at the cuffs and lower
skirt pleats. Circa 1884.
