12" (30 cm.) All-wooden doll with one piece head and torso, her head sculpted as though turned sharply to the side, chip-carved hair with deep combmarks waved loosely from face and captured in an extended topknot, large brown enamel inset eyes, strong nose, closed mouth, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted shoes, early costume. Condition: structurally excellent, original painted finish, scuffing on lower legs. Comments: Germany, Grodnertal region, early 1800s. Value Points: rare sideways facial pose of the all-wooden doll with fully articulated body.
