5" inside head width. Richly draped mauve velvet
frames the face of a very lavish lace coiffe,its
head back an extravagant confection of folded and
draped lace that is both stitched-down and loosely
falling,and is decorated with lavender silk
ribbons. The cap achieves structure with a
stitched buckram lining. Circa 1880.
