Description
4" shoulder width. 11" overall length. Of
cherry-red wool serge,the jacket-style princess
dress has coat sleeves with flared cuffs decorated
with a double triangular appliqu__ which repeats
as lappets that encircle the back of the dress.
The back is dart-shaped and on the side hips are
pockets with further lappet trim. A row of
box-pleats is all-around the lower skirt,and the
dress has pearl buttons and handmade button holes
at the center front. The neckline and sleeve tips
are edged with lace. Circa 1880.
