Description
5" inside diameter. The firmly-shaped flat-top
bonnet attains a
soft rounded shape with draped and folded ivory
silk fabric that
is overlaid with a wide silk band edged with
embroidered
tulle,The upturned small brim has a band of straw
braid,and a
wide loop-pattern straw braid surrounds the bonnet
edge.
Perched atop the bonnet is a delightful bird,woven
and shaped
of fine straw with "feathered" details. A paper
label inside the
muslin lining features a lion and unicorn
medallion and "Paris" in
gilt lettering. Circa 1850.
