Description
5" shoulder width. 11" relaxed waist. 15" overall
length. Of a
finely woven silk/cashmere wool purple fabric with
interwoven
black Z-design,the rounded neckline dress has
front and back
dart-shaping,hook and eye closures down the entire
front with
purple covered decorative buttons. The pouf
sleeves gain their
shape from a straight-sided liner and there is
lace edging at the
neckline,sleeve bands,and above and below the
stitched-down
pleated border at the hem. A side-hip pocket is
lace-edged and
has a lace-edged hankie,and the skirt back is
slightly elongated
at the back for an elegant look. Circa 1875.
