1.5" (4 cm.) A firm-sided hat of
horizontally-woven straw has
rounded cap top,and brown-silk edging along with
richly-arranged
brown silk bows at the crown. The hat was designed
to fit snugly
onto a baby's head to protect the baby during a
tumble. Circa
1850.
