Description
5" inside head width. 7" length shoes. The bonnet
back is embroidered with a golden soutache emblem
and has a box-pleated bavolet with silk fringe
edging. The crown is an extravaganza of decoration
with four layers of various laces and
trims,presented in graduated width with a
culminating confection at the peak dotted with a
silk ribbon frou-frou. The bonnet is muslin lined
and padded,and has ivory silk streamers. The ivory
silk satin slippers have hand-stitched
interiors,an ivory bow trim,and soft kid-skin
soles and heels. Circa 1880.
