Description
5 1/2" shoulder width. 13" overall length. Of a
very fine quality wool flannel,the taupe-colored
coat has flared sides with overcast stitching in
the manner of a quality tailor. Wide coat sleeves
are curved at the wrists,and the 8"l. cape has
dart-shaping at the shoulders and a graceful
curved shape that corresponds exactly to the
sleeve shape. The cape is s-curved at the back and
the curve is mimicked by the five curved ribbon
stripes that extend around the entire collar,and
along the sleeves. The fine fabric and workmanship
suggest production by a fine tailor. Circa 1890.
