Description
3" (8 cm.) x 2". Within a gilded metal oval frame
with silk backing,is a delicately painted portrait
on ivory of a woman with alabaster-like
complexion,gentle smile,formally- arranged yet
delicate coiffure of soft curls around her
forehead and onto her shoulders decorated with a
jeweled coronet that matches her necklace. She
wears a low-bodice pale-rose gown and holds a
garland of roses. Unsigned,early 19th century.
