14" (36 cm.) Paper-Mache shoulder head with oval-shaped face,elongated strong throat,modeled bosom,sculpted black hair with thick braid forming a coronet and looped around the back of her head,held by modeled comb,and having cascading ringlet curls in front of each ear. She has finely painted facial features,aqua eyes,delicate upper eyeliner and brows,slender nose with dainty upturn at the tip,closed mouth,blushed cheeks. Her kid body is very slender and has wooden lower arms and legs,painted green shoes,wearing antique ivory satin dress in the high-waisted,low-bodice style. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1815. Value Points: very rare model with fine original finish and sturdy body. The doll was acquired by Margaret Hartshorn in 1972 and bears a blue ribbon award from UFDC national convention of 1974.
