Description
14" (36 cm.) Thick paste porcelain shoulder head depicting adult lady with gentle expression,having blue painted downcast eyes,red and black upper eyeliner,single stroke brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,and closed mouth with piquant smile. Her black sculpted hair is arranged in a center-part with three arranged graduated size finger curls above each ear and sculpted away from the head,and the remainder of her hair pulled smoothly back into a coiled chignon at the back. She has a simple early muslin body and wears red cotton dress and undergarments. Condition: early restoration to shoulder plate,hands worn away on body. Comments: Germany,circa 1855. Value Points: very rare early model with wonderful coiffure,unusual facial expression with uniquely sculpted nose.
