Description
19" (48 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with slight
pink tinting and modeled bosom,slender elongated
face and throat,,painted bright blue eyes with red
upper eyeliner,and delicate black
eyeliner,aquiline nose with accented
nostrils,closed mouth,center accent line. Her
sculpted center-parted black hair smoothly frames
her face with subtle horizontal curls,and then is
drawn to the back of her head and captured in a
five-strand narrowly braided chignon. Her wooden
fully-articulated body features a tiny waist on
long slender upper torso,and has dowel-jointing at
shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,with porcelain
lower arms and legs,the right hand fixed in a
small circle as though to hold an object,painted
orange shoes. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks:(early illegible factory markings on back
torso). Comments: Germany,circa 1850. Value
Points: the very rare doll in fine large size is
exceptionally well-preserved,and owns her original
early costume
