Description
14" (36 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head depicting a
young lad with bright blue painted eyes,thick
black encircling eyeliner,lightly feathered
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with pertly
shaped lips,muslin stitch-jointed body with kid
lower arms,antique woolen boy"s suit. He has short
black sculpted hair in deeply tousled style with
stippled details of curls around the forehead and
sides of head,blushed detail of sculpted ears.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments: probably
French,circa 1860. Value Points: wonderfully
expressive features with dramatic detailed
painting of eyes,beautiful stippling of hair
details around the forehead edge.
