Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with rounded
facial shape,elongated throat,painted dark blue
eyes with encircling dark eyeliner,red upper
eyeliner,painted lashes,lightly feathered
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with center accent line,muslin
stitch-jointed body with new bisque lower
arms,wearing antique gold taffeta gown with black
lace trim. She has a three-strand molded necklace
with gilt decoration,and matching sculpted
earrings. Her hair,an unusual nearly-white blonde
color is waved away from her face into framing
curls,one frivolous curl at the right forehead
edging the porcelain-glazed feather that decorates
her crown,and forming into nine horizontal rolled
curls at the back,each separated by a row of white
beads,then forming into a small confection of
curls at the nape of her neck clasped by a wide
barette with gilt trim. Condition: shoulderplate
has virtually imperceptible reglue under
costume,body weak. Comments: attributed to
Alt,Beck and Gottschalck,circa 1870. Value Points:
rarity factors include hair color,hair
ornaments,necklace,earrings,painted eye
lashes,lovely antique costume. She owns two blue
ribbon awards from UFDC conventions.
