Description
10" (25 cm.) Bisque shoulder head depicting an
adult lady with elongated throat,pale complexion
with blushed cheeks,cobalt blue glass eyes,painted
lashes,lightly feathered brown brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with center accent line,and
pierced ears. She has an original muslin
stitch-jointed body with bisque lower limbs,and is
wearing an early costume of silk apron over cotton
skirt and undergarments,and woolen jacket. Her
brown sculpted hair is arranged in very full
deeply-sculpted curls overall her head,and having
a thin black ribbon and bow at the crown.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Simon
and Halbig,circa 1875. Value Points: rarity
factors include brown hair,hair ribbon and glass
eyes,original body and costume,ex-collection of
Estelle Winthrop before her acquisition by
Margaret Hartshorn.
