Description
22" (56 cm.) Paper-Mache shoulder head of
gentleman with rounded facial shape,black glass
eyes,painted lashes,black eyeliner,feathered
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with accented lips,and blushed cheeks. He
has his original muslin stitch-jointed body with
leather arms and is wearing a gentleman"s formal
suit with silk vest and bow tie,leather shoes. His
black sculpted hair is deeply comb-marked,with
side-part and tousled curls at sides,back and
above the fully-sculpted ears. Condition:
generally excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1860.
Value Points: very rare model of gentleman,superb
detail of hair,ears,glass eyes,preserved fine
original finish,original costume. The doll was a
blue ribbon award from 1969 New Orleans and 1977
San Diego national conventions.
